UNITAR joins UNESCO IITE, FAO and ICTILO in international support alliance
UNITAR as fourth UN organization next to UNESCO IITE, FAO and ITCILO commited to support the Global Survey on the Quality of MOOCs, see: www.survey.mooc-quality.eu !
This first Global Survey on the Quality of Open Education and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) gains more and more recognition and backing by foremost international associations and institutions, among them the International Council for Distance and Open Education (ICDE), Open Education Consortium (OEC), International Community for Open Research and Education (ICORE), Commonwealth of Learning (COL), European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU), European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN), European Association of Technology-Enhanced Learning (EATEL), Contact North (CN) and many more.
The objectives and constructs of the Global MOOC Survey will be presented in an interactive workshop as Action Lab at the International Conference Open Education Global 2017 on 9th of March 2017 in Cape Town, South Africa. The Global MOOC Survey is facilitated by the European MOOQ Alliance for the quality of MOOCs and is addressing three main target groups: MOOC learners, MOOC designers and MOOC facilitators. MOOQ wants to improve future MOOCs through the development of quality indicators and tools that will derive from the survey through the collection of design and learning experiences as well as from their analysis and discussion afterwards. Final objective is a Quality Reference Framework with quality indicators and tools for MOOCs to be designed and discussed in close collaboration with all interested international stakeholders. “We are very happy about the huge participation until now demonstrating the need and interest by experts and practitioners worldwide”, emphasises Christian M. Stracke from the Open University of the Netherlands and ICDE Chair in OER. “Please take 20 minutes to contribute your views and experiences”.
MOOQ encourages all interested parties to complete the Global MOOC Survey that is open until end of March 2017. All findings from the scientific, independent and non-profit survey will be published and shared online. It is accessible online at: www.survey.mooc-quality.eu
